Financial Analyst Certificate Schools

Would you like to work in the financial sector as a financial analyst? Completing a certificate program in financial analysis is the first step to reaching your goal.

Financial analysts analyze the performance of stocks, bonds and other types of investments in order to provide the best advice to businesses and nonprofit organizations in their financial decisions. These professionals work for financial institutions, private corporations, insurance carriers, and security and commodity brokerages. Some financial analysts work for the government. Most work full time, with many working more than 40 hours a week.

There are certificates offered through continuing studies or extension departments of colleges and universities and are often available to those already working professionals in the field. However, there are also certificate programs that cater to those who are interested in entering the field of financial analysis.

Most employers prefer financial analysts who have undergone professional certification. The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is offered by the CFA Institute to qualified professionals. Individuals who wish to enroll in the certification program must be members of the CFA Institute and have completed or are in the final year of a bachelor’s degree program. They must then independently prepare for and pass the three examinations over a period of 2-5 years. A financial analyst is required to earn at least 4 years of professional investment experience before he or she can be granted the CFA designation.
